HOLIDAY SPUTNIK MOBILE

10 December 2010

Remember the ornaments I mentioned about not using for my Polaroid Christmas tree this year? I didn't wanna let them go to waste so I swapped out the Polaroids from the Polaroid mobile for these round ornaments. And tah-dah! A George Nelson inspired, sputnik mobile. This DIY is a piece of cake and costs very little. It's a subtle and perfect way to modernize your Christmas decorations.

You can easily get a satellite photo mobile here. Then clip any mini (or large) ball ornaments you have hanging around. To hang it from the ceiling, I poked a clear pushpin, then used one of these curtain ring clips to hook the mobile. And there you go. Have fun!

By the way, have you noticed that I pretty much sneak my Eames rocker into every photo? I can't help it.

The mobile is pretty rad. So is your chair and hence, I do not blame you for sneaking it into your photos.
