A CUP OF SUCCULENTS
08 February 2011
More plant love! I've always liked using cups as planters. The handles make it easy for watering the plants in the sink. I found the Lovely Whale cup, ceramic creamer and the succulent plants from the thrifts, all for a few pennies. I don't know about you, but I enjoy sipping on a nice cup of cactus from time to time. I know my gal from Compai also shares my love for putting succulents in cups. Check out Justina's fabulous little turquoise teacup planter.

I'm a sucker for succulents and cacti in alternative containers (who isn't!?) and these are so, so sweet. love your photos, as always...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I just saw a pitcher being used as a vase on Pinterest and was completely inspired to do the same. I love how you use a mug for smaller plants, what a fantastic idea, and adorable thrift finds!
ReplyDeleteThanks JUSTINA. I know, it's so awesome. I knew this would be right down your alley because I remember seeing your greens in a gorgeous blue/gold teacup.
ReplyDeleteCINDY - Yeah, pitchers, mugs, bowls, teacups, who knows, maybe even heels or oxford shoes will work great as planters. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHi David (or Dabito)!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got back safe from Paris! All your pictures made me miss it soooo much... i was there for 2 weeks in 1993, and was lucky enough to see 2 in house fashion shows for Chanel and Dior! (brag brag!!)Yes I was a very lucky 19 year old!!
As for your cute planters, lately i've been crushing on terrariums and voila, every home and women's magazine and their mothers are sprouting articles about it... which now has given me the confidence to try and make one! so this will be my weekend project... i'm excited because i haven't had any plants in my home since we moved here a year and a half ago.
Keep up the good work sir... you inspire me so!
RACHEL M - Oh my, Chanel AND Dior! I am succulent with envy! Yeah, terrariums are like the new IT bags right now. It's everywhere and they are so easy to do. Have fun with it. Thank you so much for the sweet comments. It's SO GOOD to hear from ya.
