Mangos are in season right now so my mom went crazy and got a box of it to lure me home. It worked! Plus itty mangos, too! I like to cut it up like a hedgehog then scoop mouthfuls of it in. Heaaaven! If you ever make a trip to Hong Kong, there's a mango dessert chain called Hui Lau Shan and they serve bowls of mango ice cream with mango pudding, in a sea of mango juice, with fresh mango slices on top—to die for!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone...and eat a gripload of mangos!

Oh so very jealous! We couldn't be further from mango season :(
ReplyDeletemy favorite fruit :)
ReplyDeleteI have to show Banoo this. Mangoes are his ultimate super fave food, and these photos are like porn for him! He just rips the skin off and eats them up and gets them in his beard and 'tache though. Sort of like a tropical caveman? I'm going to hedgehog-cut it for him next time, though. One must eat one's mangoes with civility!
ReplyDeleteI love mangoes, too. Those look like some perfectly ripe ones! I love the yellow-skinned ones that you have...the Tommy Adkins ones (the red/green skin ones) are the most popular in the U.S. but the worst ones!
ReplyDeletemmm... i'm drooling right now! Funnily enough I have a box on the way myself from my mommy... should be arriving today, YES!

ReplyDeletei have never eaten a mango and i am oh so ashamed of that fact! mango smoothies = yes. mango flavored things = yes. a straight-up mango = no. i need to get one asap!
ReplyDeleteI've been in India for a bit and have gotten addicted to mangoes! Have you ever heard of the Alphonso variety? They don't ship well, so they're hard to find in the U.S. They're UNBEELEEBA good.

ReplyDelete@ Esther Bummer. Sour mangos are still pretty delicious. Oh, I miss Sydney! If it gets too hot in LA, I might have to escape to one of my favorite cities.
ReplyDelete@ Jeanne The mangos in Hong Kong are ahhmazin'! We have a Hui Lau Shan here, too, and it's a joke. haha. Are you from HK? I studied abroad in college and loved it so much that I decided to join Cathay Pacific for a couple years just so I can shop and eat there. I miss HK!
