NEW POOCH

08 August 2011

I was going through Beatrice withdrawals last week so I decided to check out some local adoption agencies, aka Goodwill. And bam! There she was, standing in a fresh pile of poop-smelling furniture, all brassy sassy, so I scooped her up for a song. She cleaned up real nice and by the time Beatrice returned from her week-long trip, she was instantly smittened by ________'s golden charm. By the way, I need a funky name for her. Any suggestions? And that's all I did this weekend, folks. Play stupid cupid with a brass dog and Beatrice. How was your weekend?

  2. She is gorgeous! Very svelte, needs an appropriate classy name... just as long as you don't choose Eugenie!

  3. A Divine Comedy, and certainly a very comedic pair so perhaps the new arrival could be named Dante?

Stunning, but not as beautiful as Beatrice!

  4. Glad to see Beatrice is home! Surprised she didn't feel chagrined about being replaced by a big brass bitch (female dog, people!). ;)
    Name possibility: Matilda
p.s. the shot of the faux dog in bed is killing me with giggles!

  11. Good to see beautiful Beatrice back home and love her shiny new friend! I'm also glad(?) to know that my local Goodwill isn't the only one that smells like poo, just walking into it is like getting punched in the face with a fistful of turd. I don't even want to know how that thrift store phenomenon occurs.

  13. @ PoetessWug I'm totally digging Maude!

@ Nat Ha! No worries, Eugenie is definitely not one of my top choices. Thanks! :D

@ Caroline Dante—what an epic name! And Beatrice is definitely way more beautiful and she keeps me warm in bed too.

@ Tea and Chickadees I know, shocking! And brass bitch—haha...I thought she'd get a little pissy but quite the opposite.

  17. LOL Dante is my Italian Greyhound's name! :) That's such a cool find! I've been on the same hunt for a decent greyhound statue that isn't creepy. I'm glad Beatrice is back. :) Maybe a name that goes well with hers? Like...Beatrice and....man I'm drawing a blank.

  19. Totally jealous! I was just saying to my man yesterday, "we need to find a fake greyhound" so our italian greyhound can have a low-maintenance buddy!

  21. @ Crystal Ah! I miss doing those vintage vignettes too. They were hard and took so much time and ever since I started working full-time, it's been so hard to put it together, but I definitely wanna do bring it back soon!

@ Hello Rabbit Yeah, poo, turd, smelly feet, diarrhea, it's pretty gross but it never stops us from digging for gems! :D
