CORNERS OF MY NEW HOME

27 December 2011

My holiday weekend was very relaxing. I did all my shopping on Christmas Eve. It wasn't stressful at all. All the stores had deeper discounts that day and surprisingly fewer people. That evening, I took my family out for Chinese comfort food. We warmed our bellies with soupy noodles. And the next morning, I had them over at my new home to crack open presents. Later in the evening, I went to celebrate my friend, Kim's birthday. We had a Chinese family style dinner and it was yummytastic. I took a couple rolls of film which I'll be dropping off today.

Oh, and my mom loves our new home. I don't think she wanted to leave, neither did my niece. They thought it was very cozy. The place is slowly but surely coming together. I got a new plant. It's a Dracaena "Janet Craig Compacta." They're like fireworks. It was mine the second I had my eyes on it at Home Depot. So, how did your holiday weekend go? Tell me stories!

That pot on the last photograph is great! Did you do paint it like that yourself?

We are in Switzerland, I see forest and mountains though the window when I stand up in the morning,

I wish you a good last week of 2011!

  2. I started the weekend sick at home (flu). Gradually I got better but I'm not 100%. Otherwise it was a great weekend, very cold, sunny and we were surrounded by family. A perfect weekend full of delicious lunch and dinner (I have gained two kilos). Your house is very cozy. The plant is very pretty ... I have a problem with plants, I watering them too, I think that my plants die because I watering them too much.

my christmas was icy & cold... in the sense that it snowed and i got a zoku popsicle maker so i've eaten about 20 frozen delicious treats over the past few days. delicious....

thanks for emailing me your awesomely animated holiday card, dabito!

  7. @ Johanna Thank you. The planter was a a quick and dirty DIY. Very easy to do. I wanna make more. Switzerland sounds magical. What I would give to wake up to forest and mountains right outside my home. Jealous. Have a happy New Year! xo

@ Misislau Oh no. Hope you get 100% better by New Year's. Your weekend sounds relaxing and chill. I've definitely gained a few here too but it's so worth it. I'm the opposite about watering plants, I don't water enough but that's probably why i stick to succulents. Have a fantastic and healthy New Year's!
