FINE THINGS

28 February 2012

I've been a bad vintage vulture. I can't remember the last time I visited a thrift store. Remember those days when I would frequent not one, but ten thrifts in a day? I need those days back desperately. I'm gonnna try to hit up at least one during my lunch break today.

I didn't get as much done with the house as planned. I got a call from my mom and sis begging me to babysit my adorable niece on Sunday. Can't say no to that lil monster. We watched the Oscars together and posed as Angelina Jolie's leg all night. It was fun. Hot damn, it's insane how a leg can cause such a media frenzy. I still need to see The Artist. I loved The Beginners and throughly enjoyed The Descendants and The Help. Come to think of it, I think I wept like a baby in all of them.

Let's talk about some of the knickityknacks in the photo. I got a Mast Brothers chocolate when I was in New York. I'm sure it's as delicious as it looks. I can't seem to rip it open just yet. The black candle is by Voluspa and their maison noir is my favorite scent. My living room stays delicious to the nose even when it's not lit. Mini organic herb soaps in the small farmer's basket are from Morning Calm.

  5. SARA — I listened to you and just had some. And oh my truffle! It's seriously absolutely amazing! And I'm not even a choco person. Ahhh h. Thanks, Sara!

So bummed I missed Satsuki's meeting. I heard you girls had a sweet time. Hope to catch up with you soon!

  6. JACQUELINE — I know! It was hilarious when he did that. She just looked absolutely ridiculous posing with her leg which I'm sure she was aware of that. Crazy Angelina has been hibernating for a very long time so I'm happy she did something silly.

  7. SECIA — I opened it and it's sooo good. You have to get some. I think you can order online or find some at the Farmers Market where Sara suggested.

  13. WHOA, that little yellow ceramic sugar dish! I used to have one just like that, along with a matching coffee pitcher. I got them from Goodwill, but as much as I liked them, I never really found a place for them in my apartment. I donated them back to Goodwill maybe six months ago. Now I'm kicking myself; that looks so lovely with the little plant poking up out of it!

I wonder if that's literally the same one I had. One of the lids -- not sure if it was the pitcher or the small dish pictured -- had broken at some point and had been glued back together. Anyway, found you via your house tour on Apartment Therapy and I love your blog!
